History

The idea of TUPO International was born in Tanzania as the culmination of the experiences of its founder, Jennifer Ware, and an international group of her friends, working partners and mentors.

The organization was incorporated in Arizona in January, 2008. In May of 2008, TUPO International became a registered non-profit organization in the United States. In February 2009, the organization was officially recognized as a Tanzanian NGO. Since our establishment, we have developed a close relationship with two communities in Tanzania: the KIBOWA orphanage and its surrounding area, and the Mikungani village. Our partnership with these communities has led to many innovative ideas on how to help them prosper. Over the past year and a half, through grassroots and in-kind donations, TUPO International has raised over $7,000 to develop these ideas. Fostering close ties with key community leaders in Tanzania, we have developed the capacity to direct donor funding into these projects in an effective, transparent, and accountable way.

TUPO International’s first project will be with KIBOWA orphanage while simultaneously planning for an assistance project in the Mikungani Village.

Financial support is imperative to these projects. Please consider making a donation here before you exit the site. TUPO International thanks you for your support.
